SEEK

BUSCA

Testimonials

My SEEK group has been a wonderfully affirming and supportive experience. We spend each meeting meditating on the Gospel, praying in a natural and deeply spiritual manner, and sharing our faith journeys. We find the SEEK meetings to be an oasis of peace and spiritual refreshment in our busy lives. Through our discussion of the Gospel, aided as needed by commentaries and study Bibles, we awaken new insights into the message of Jesus Christ for each one of us -- right here, right now, in 21st Century America.

From Debra S. Post

"My introduction to SEEK began last year as part of my Lenten journey. I thought that by learning more about my Faith, I would be able to simplify the complexity of life. Although SEEK did not provide all the answers to the complexities, it gave me the spiritual strength to live with the complexity. My partners in SEEK helped me to appreciate that it is a wonderful experience to live with the questions and to keep searching and learning."

From Rose Yuhas

I really think our group enjoys the time we spend together. Our time has evolved into an intimate time of sharing our faith and our response to it. We have gotten together socially as well as spiritually. It is something we all look forward to doing.

From Ron Hauck

Our SEEK group met last night. We used the new "Why Catholic" program. Everyone LOVED it. We all got a lot out of it. The Holy Spirit was alive and well at our meeting. Everyone is looking forward to our next meeting. I found the catechism on line and will print out the paragraphs so we don't pass the book around. This way everyone will have a copy of all the paragraphs in the order they come up in the workbook. I found out that I'm not the only person who needs to read something to fully "get it". Anyway, I thought you would like to hear some feedback.

I am so glad the SEEK and BUSCA teams at St. Michaels and St. Charles parishes prepared and presented this first annual Lenten Retreat. This year I really needed a jumpstart to get me started and guide me through this Lenten season. I especially enjoyed the “togetherness” of both the SEEK and BUSCA families. This made the retreat special. I liked the format. It gave more that enough time for meditation and reflection. Deacon Rigo Cabezas was an excellent and enthusiastic retreat master. I wish the questions that were presented to us to reflect upon had been written down either in a program or on the white board. I found after a few minutes I wanted the question re-stated, but Deacon Rigo had left the room and the question wasn’t displayed anywhere. Also, the time to reflect and meditate was too long. Forty minutes to reflect and meditate was excessive. Twenty minutes would have been plenty. I applaud the SEEK and BUSCA teams at St. Michaels and St. Charles for their efforts, and I look forward to many more retreats in the future.
