Ash Wednesday Schedule March 9, 2011

Masses: 7:00, 8:30, (SMS) 9:30 A.M., 5:30 and 7:00 P.M. (Spanish)

Distribution of ashes at each Mass and also at 12:15 and 3:15 P.M.

There will be a Lenten meal in the parish hall following the 5:30 P.M. Mass. This is hosted by the Knights of Columbus.


Lenten Mass Schedule

Daily Masses: 7:00 A.M., 8:30 A.M.
No 7:00 A.M. on Saturdays

Fridays during Lent:

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel:

9:00 A.M. to 5:15 P.M. Benediction at 5:15 P.M.
No Adoration on Good Friday

Stations of the Cross:

7:00 P.M. English; 8:00 P.M. Spanish

Lenten Communal Reconciliation Service:

Tuesday, March 29, at 7:00 P.M. in the Church/Parish

Wednesday April 6 at 7:00 P.M. in the Church/Youth

All are welcome to attend.

Every Saturday of Lent (except Holy Saturday)

  • 9:00 A.M./Church
  • 3:30 - 4:15P.M./ Convent chapel
  • 6:15-6:45 P.M./ Church Monday April 18 4-6P.M./Church
  • (Last confession date before Easter)

Holy Saturday, April 23, there will not be confessions

NO CONFESSIONS DURING EASTER TRIDUUM (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday)


Lenten Regulations on Fast and Abstinence

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. The following fasting and abstinence regulations are observed: Abstinence from meat is observed on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all the Fridays of Lent by all Catholics 14 years and older. Fasting is observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday by all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59. Those bound by this rule may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted as necessary to maintain strength according to one's needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted.

Reglas para el ayuno y la abstinencia

en la Cuaresma El Micoles de Ceniza se inicia la Cuaresma. Las regulaciones siguientes sobre el ayuno y la abtinencia se observan en ese tiempo. La abstinencia de carne se observa el Miércoles de Ceniza y el Viernes Santo y todos los Viernes de Cuaresma por todos los católicos mayors de 14 años. El ayuno se observa el Miércoles de Ceniza y el Viernes Santo por todos los fieles que han cumplido 18 años y los que son menores de 59. Los que tienen la obligación de ayunar pueden tomar una comida completa durante el día. También se permite tomar dos comidas más pequeñas, si son necesarias para mantenar la fuerza, pero no se puede tomar nada sólido entre comidas
